A legacy of hope for those touched by loss.

The Allen/Drennan family has a remarkable legacy of crafting prostheses for those affected by trauma or illness. It began with Raymond Allen, who emigrated from England to open BC’s first Anaplastology department then later added ocular prosthetics, addressing the needs of cancer and trauma survivors.

Raymond passed his expertise to his daughter Marie, whose passion for blending art and science advanced the field. Marie later trained her husband, Rob Drennan, and today their daughter Heather carries the legacy forward, embracing new 3D scanning and printing technology to elevate their craft.

Known for their meticulously detailed work and compassionately delivered patient care, the Allen/Drennan’s have earned a reputation that draws patients from across British Columbia and the Yukon. Their work transforms lives, restoring hope and confidence.

For all that has changed since Raymond’s first prosthesis, the joy of a patient’s final fitting remains unchanged—a moment where they see not just physical restoration but a renewed sense of self.

After moving to Victoria from Toronto, I was in need of a new artificial eye and was recommended to Marie Allen at the Eye Clinic. I have had many artificial eyes since childhood and this is one of the most comfortable and beautiful looking eyes. I work in the public and feel very confident with my eye. Marie is wonderful to work with and makes you feel very comfortable.
